Attorney General of Iowa challenges FDA’s Gottlieb on recent regulatory oversteps.

A brief synopsis of Iowa AG Thomas J. Miller’s letter to Gottlieb:

  1. It is essential the FDA distinguish between occasional use by adolescents and regular/daily use.
  2. Risk should not only be taken into consideration, but should be fairly weighted and proportionate when drafting policy.
  3. It is unreasonable to claim there is no potential for cross-over in flavor preference between adults and adolescents when drafting tobacco policy.
  4. He challenges the logic behind exclusively restricting purchase and sale of closed pod flavor varieties to tobacco and menthol flavors.
